Faisalabad was a part of district of Jhang and Sandalbar. Faisalabad is located in provenance (Punjab) Pakistan. Its old name is Lyallpur. Faisalabad is third largest city of Pakistan regarding to population after Karachi and labor respectively. It is main industrial city of Pakistan and generating really great revenue for Pakistan. It is also called Manchester of Pakistan due to its fabric industry. It is symbols of fast growing industry of textile and export goods and it is textile capital of country. Main transportation is urban transport (pvt) Faisalabad air port is also here for domestic air traveling. A main railway station linked with Lahore and Karachi. Faisalabad district formerly comprised six sub-divisions; Faisalabad City, Faisalabad Sadr, Chak Jhumra, Samundri, Jaranwala, and Tandlianwala. The Chenab River flows on the western boundary of the district and The Ravi River flows on the eastern.

Faisalabad is located in the flat plains of northeast Punjab, between longitude 73°74 East latitude 30°31.5 North with an elevation of 184 meters above sea level . The city Faisalabad covers an area of approximately 830 square kilometers. It is also an agricultural city of Pakistan. The lower Chenab canal is the main source of irrigation water, which meets the requirements of 80% of cultivated land. Asian biggest university of agriculture is also located here. UNIVERSITY OF AGRICULTURE is largest university of Pakistan respect of its area it is located in the heart of city.

The Daily Express is the only national newspaper published from Faisalabad.
Faisalabad's GDP is projected to rise to $24 billion in 2020 at a growth rate of 6.0%, higher than the growth rates of 5.8% and 5.9% predicted for Karachi and Lahore. The city was third behind Karachi ($55 billion) and Lahore ($28 billion). A PricewaterhouseCoopers study released in 2007 as well, that surveyed the 2005 GDP of the top cities in the world as well as Pakistan, calculated Faisalabad’s GDP (PPP) to be $10 billion. It is all due to its industry of fabrics and agricultural land.
